As I mentioned in a previous post, I feel like I’m becoming a new man. One of the significant changes since I returned to Vancouver is a desire to get back into shape and the will to act on that desire.
So far the results have been good. I have been back in Vancouver for seven full days and I’ve managed to have a workout seven times! I’ve been scheduling my workout into the calendar on my BlackBerry and that has really helped me stick to it. As a bonus, the fitness room in the recreation centre that is a part of our townhouse complex has been upgraded over the summer, which gives me access to equipment in near-proximity.
On the diet side, I’ve also made some adjustments. I’m pretty sure that I’ve halved my daily calorie intake compared to my reckless eating habits during the summer. I’ve basically eliminated all sweets and snacks from my diet and I’m eating three healthy meals a day. I try not to eat after 6:30pm, and now that I’m back at home, there are a lot more fruits and vegetables in my diet.
So far the results have been great. The question is…how long can I keep this up? Will this make any lasting change to my fitness and eating habits? Or is this just another New Year’s Resolution transplanted to September? Stay tuned to see…
